Where we were.........
We have made Pets as Therapy visits to these residential care homes already this year; Amphion View, Ernelsthorpe, Plantation View, Wyndthorpe Hall, St Anne's, Albany House, Sandrock House, Rose House and Highgrove. The residents benefit from sitting and relaxing with the guineas.
The Guineas Brownie visited the 54th Rainbows and the 17th Doncaster Brownies in January for an educational session. The group were very behaved and had lots of good questions. They all enjoyed learning about guinea pigs and the activities of Cavy Corner. Without a doubt everyone’s favourite part was meeting the guineas. “The Brownies have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.. Tawny Owl” “We have had a wonderful evening ...Rainbow Leader”
Cavy Corner paid a return visit to Hatfield Library on 24 Feb where approx’ 30 children and their parents met the guineas and completed some guinea themed activities. A great time was had by all.
Also in Feb the guineas went along to a respite centre for children with learning disabilities.
An assembly to the students of the Queen Elizabeth High School Gainsborough, where the guineas were warmly welcomed and the pupils eager to learn about the work of the sanctuary volunteers.
In June Cavy Corner paid 2 visits to Kirk Sandall Infant school and the children enjoyed learning all about guineas.
