Cavy Corner regularly make Pets ( or Piggies) as Therapy visits into residential homes and Care establishments.
The visit creates a different experience for residents and many report that its been the highlight of their day.
The tame and friendly guineas are especially chosen to go on visits because they are calm and particularly enjoy long cuddles.
Its clear to see that the residents always enjoy close contact with the guineas and staff report that residents are calm and relaxed following the visit. Staff and visitors also enjoy the experience. There are proven therapeutic benefits of close physical contact with animals.

Recently at a event a lady hearing Sue speak about the PAT visits burst out laughing and told us that for several weeks her elderly Mum
(a resident in a home we visit regularly) had been telling her that she’d had a visit from a guinea pig and that she had enjoyed cuddling him..... The daughter fearing her mum had become more confused had been insisting she was mistaken!
This was our second visit to St John’s Scout Group in Worksop and this time we talked to the The Beavers who are aged between 8 and 10½.
